Chromecast vs Fire Stick TV vs Roku TV

Chromecast vs Fire Stick TV vs Roku TV

I have used all three TV streaking devices of which I have shared my experiences below. Please leave a comment of which one do you use and any feedback which you want to mention.

Google Chromecast

I can say this is much suitable for people who doesn't want to have much things to do with TV but just want to cast videos or stream any media files. This was fastest among all and I really couldn't find any difference between a casting media vs regular media browsing. Google Chromecast was best working for an android phone, where you are also allowed to cast your screen using an android phone. This is pretty common in now a day manufacturing devices.
That's it. Chromecast is pretty simple. It opens up with a wallpaper which is the only UI on the chromecast. Simple and work done. A glimpse of how a Chromecast main screen looks like is given below.
Also, this chromecast can be accompanied with Google Home devices to make it smart and voice assisted. You can simply say commands or the actions which you do with hands using your own voice. For example, if you want to play Stranger things on your TV you just have to connect your Google Home and Google Chromecast to same wifi. Include both in your Google smart home and then say below command.

Hey google, play stranger things on my TV

Roku TV

This is more of a device which converts your TV to smart TV by connecting to your WiFi. It also has an app store where most of the companies have hosted their apps. We do not have to carry a mobile device, Instead we can use the apps and play the content or browse the internet. More or less, this feature of making it smart has been included as a stock option in most of the TV's today. Few use their own streaming software like Samsung. Roku TV is being a stock option in brands like TCL, Sharp, Vizio. This comes with a remote and makes it easy if we do not want to use our phone. This is also easy for people who are not tech savvy and do not want to invest more time on learning new devices.

UI is pretty simpler. It goes straight to the apps installed. It also has several apps and few apps which provide free TV channels like Pluto. If you have a Roku TV, please do check them out and leave a comment here. I have included a screenshot of home page for the Roku TV here.

Fire TV stick:

This streaming device, I call it simply a hybrid combination of both Roku TV and chromecast. It is smart, voice assistant and has a remote with a list of apps downloadable. Unlike Google chromecast which needs Google home to be interactive Fire TV's remote itself has mic which acts as voice assistant. It also has a variety of applications downloadable just like Roku TV app store.

I really find the UI very disappointing. It looks like just the home page of Prime video web application. Prime video is also owned by Amazon.

Final Verdict

I personally being a Google Guy, I like chromecast because of it's simple UI and faster play rate. It also got 4K TV support. It can be used to make your home smart with the use of Google Home. So, please do share which one's do you like and why.

Thank You!
