Is Tesla model 3 going to be next Prius?
The latest model even though not recently announced, Tesla model 3 has made enough remarkable mentions in the news since it was unveiled in 2016. Most of the news were because of its mass production delays and huge number of reservations made and been waited for years.
With the recent on track of mass production results by Tesla motors, it can be clearly seen in California that it has achieved the mass production targets which it was trying to reach for.
It was a pleasant day for me when I started off with going to gym today. On my way to the gym I have noticed increasingly number of Tesla's I can recognize than before. I was shocked and on first thought California people have become rich. Later I realized them being Tesla model 3 which is the latest version.
Many thoughts were circling during my work out and I decided to count the number of Tesla's on my way back home. It is just a 3.5 mile drive from Gym to my home. Soon after I started from gym, exempting other Tesla models (S, X, Roadster) I can easily make a double digit count by the time I reached home. It was 12 which caught my eye while I am in driving seat. I could have made more number If I was not driving.
As the production unit is much close to California, are all the deliveries being first sent to California reservations?
Also, as mentioned during the launch the $35,000 model has never been made open yet for the reservations. Now with increasing number of Tesla model 3 cars on the road even the federal tax credit is not given for the cars delivered after December 31, 2018. This has made a huge rush in Tesla car aspirants.
Earlier to this car, I have witnessed Toyota Prius to be seen more on the road as it is economic because of its hybrid engine. Now is it going to be overtaken by Tesla?
Also, Is buying a Tesla that easy?
During the early models of Tesla, Elon musk has mentioned they would make much more cheaper cars by selling more Tesla model S and Tesla model X which are expensive today.
He has also mentioned in one of his latest interview that if everything works well and Tesla works good and really hard, they can also produce $25,000 cars in next 3 years.
Let's hope and see what we can witness in coming years.
All I hope is people who buy Tesla just for the status may be disappointed seeing too many Tesla model 3 cars on the road.
