Notches on Phones? Which way is the best?
I just came across new phone released from Motorola from their successful brand of mid range phone line up called moto G7. It released 3 new phones in US market and 4 in Asia - pacific region and all of them have the much needed of recent time's notch. I should probably mention "NOTCH".
Note: I am writing this blog post after many weeks so hang tight and bear with me if my post doesn't seem meaningful
I personally do not hate notch but at the same time equally want to eliminate notches from the phones. I myself using an iPhone X for more than an year to date. iPhone X is considered to be the first phone which popularized the notch concept.
Since then I started seeing many type of notches and the very first implementer of those starting with iPhone X (notch), Essential, Pixel , One Plus 6T (Tear drop) and finally Samsung Galaxy S10 (Punch hole). I would also like to provide some picture references to them for more detailed understanding.
Google Pixel 3 XL (left) and One plus 6T (right)
Apple iPhone X (left), Essential (Right)
Renders of Samsung Galaxy S10 (S10, S10 plus, S10 Lite)

Oppo Find X( left), Vivo NEX (middle), Xiaomi Mi mix 3(right)
Most of the areas beside these are not so useful even maximizing the screen space. I use an iPhone X which has a traditional notch and it usually covers an recognizable spot when playing videos. I prefer not to maximize the video on youtube so that I can avoid getting distracted because of notch. Below is an example of essential video playing a media in full screen.

I would say the approach Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 has taken is better way of maximizing the screen to body ratio and few other phone makers are following the same approach like Honor magic 2, Lenovo z5 pro. You can get a detailed difference between all 3 which is very negligible. Also there is a new approach by Vivo which always comes up with new creative ways of Phone designs like dual display.

Thank you.
