GoPro Fusion 360 Camera Trip review: New York
In the process of upgrading my 360 capture experience and my Vlogging(personal), I have bought the much acclaimed GoPro Fusion 360 camera last week and carried it with me to my New York. I haven't been to New York before. So I wanted to capture major attractions in 360 degree and carry back with me so I can check back them and relive those moments.Basically any 360 camera captures complete view surrounding it, GoPro Fusion 360 also does the same. Few things better in GoPro is it records a 5.2K, OverCapture possible via GoPro mobile app and obviously it is an action camera.
Before we jump in, I would like to share how the camera looks and few notes.

Note: I believe you have already gained a quite good idea about this camera outside. This article only explains experiences from the GoPro Fusion 360 during my New York Trip. I have previously used LG 360 and Samsung Gear 360 2017 model so I might compare GoPro to them in few instances.
My primary intent to move to GoPro were also gain above features of it. But surprisingly I should say GoPro disappointed me in many ways. Here are the reasons:
- OverCapture which is much advertised feature of Fusion 360 camera by GoPro is best and easy in GoPro mobile and very hard when you want to do it by Desktop. One drawback of mobile rendering is you limit the output to only HD quality and cannot extract OverCapture video in 4K
- Post Production as said in my YouTube reviews is too much overhead for a regular, amateur user. This was fairly a copy paste in my previous Samsung Gear 360 2017 Camera
- There is a gyro sensor in the GoPro which actually doesn't let you pan the main focus of capturing to different angles. You will have to do that only in GoPro Fusion Studio
- Long rendering time for smaller clips in higher quality
- We have to chose other third party alternatives for editing these video further down
- Too expensive for the features and convenience it gives.
I am also sharing few screenshots from the 4K outputs which I mixed it to a video, one in a night too.
Even though the post processing time is too lengthy I was very satisfied with the output. I thought of capturing everything use OverCapture and then convert it to 16:9 4K video and then have it in YouTube for reference but the limitations and heavy work/skill requirements made me to stick to only one focus in OverCapture and extract those videos. I have combined these clips with the ones which I captured in my Pixel 3 and made a video for my memories.
Before signing off I would also like to discuss the good features in it, I was very much impressed because of following reasons,
- 4K output quality(Even though it took long time and more space).
- Battery backup
- The grip which came in the box
- Case which comes in the box
- Water and shatter proof unlike any other 360 camera
- It was priced for $249 when I bought in Best Buy during Black Friday July Sale.
